Jesus Christ – our true superhero

This wonderful article, written by Gary Swanson, shows how superhero stories like Hercules or Superman borrow from the real life story of Jesus in order to appeal to our need for salvation and for God. After you read the article, I know you too will realize, as some thinkers have said, that “the universal human need for a hero, expressed in so many diverse myths through the ages, is an expression of the truth that humanity cannot ultimately save itself, that something superhuman is going to have to step in to do that for us.” Or, as C.S. Lewis put it, “the heart of Christianity is a myth which is also a fact.” Nice!
